Mary Lucy's Biography


Mary Lucy Bonfim was born in Juiz de Fora, Brasil. She is the only daughter of a family of 3 brothers. Her father, Benicio Pereira was a musician in the Brasilian Army and Choir Director of Igreja Central Metodista in Juiz de Fora for 44 years. Her mother Angelina C. Pereira lives in Juiz de Fora and is a leader in the Ladies group at the Igreja Central Metodista.

Mary Lucy has been in full-time ministry for over 40 years. She is a graduate of the Methodist Institute, a private American school in Sao Paulo, Brasil. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Christian Education. She was appointed to serve in the mission field in the city of Salvador, State of Bahia. As a Brasilian Diaconess, Mary Lucy also served in Belo Horizonte at Central Methodist Church, which is located in Brasilia, the capitol of Brasil.

Today, Mary Lucy Bonfim manages Rick Bonfim Ministries and is deeply involved with our Mission Program, bringing salvation and healing to hundreds of ladies where ever she ministers. In December of 2000, God gave her a vision to begin a Ladies Trip to Brasil.

Today, Mary Lucy coordinates and leads the "Ladies Only Mission Trip" to Brasil each November. The ladies celebrate Christmas with the hundreds of families that receive food and medical care at our Mission ( RDSBM) in St. Barbara, Brasil.

Mary Lucy, lives in Bogart, Georgia with her husband , Rick Bonfim. They have three children: Rick Harrison is a Private Client Advisor at SunTrust Bank in Macon, GA. His wife, Laura, has her own interior design company called LB Designs. They have two children, Mary Jayne and John Harrison. Sammy is the Clinic Director at Physiotherapy Associates in Macon, GA. His wife, Cindy, teaches at the First Presbyterian School in Macon, GA. They have two children, Lucia Grace and Sophie. Sandy is the Practice Administrator of Park East Cardiovascular in New York City. Her husband, Tom, is an attorney with Bingham McCutchen LLP. They have two sons named Thomas Noah and Owen.
