MY FLAME WAS REKINDLED

If you were there, you would agree. God was present. You can say that if you saw and experienced what I experienced in Athens, Georgia at the Rekindle the Flame Conference. What a wonderful experience to be renewed and recharged. Oh! God, thank you!

I have heard Terry Tekyl several times in the past. This time, his spirit was alive and weeping before God. When he spoke, you knew in your heart it came from God. Every time he brought Scriptures to us, the word convicted deeply within. I am looking forward to hear it again and again and again.  If you did not buy a book from him, you missed something powerfull. All his materials on prayer are the greatest blessing a reader can receive.

John Hobbs left an impression in the minds of many. You probably never met him, but if you have a chance to meet him, you will never forget him. He has a scent of Jesus all over him. When he speaks, you want to join him. At times John Hobbs looks at you and you have an idea that he knows you from the inside out. His demeanor, his heart, his spirit blessed us here in Athens. Thank you John, for your word. It is recorded, so all of us will hear it again.

I attended Pre-Conference. Lord, it was good. Kay Harris ministered to our needs. She was at her best. I have heard Kay many times in the past. This time, she prepared a word to the weary. Kay has this tender, gentle way of getting to you and she got to most of those who attended our time of prayer. Pre-Conference was the best in the last 18 years. The stations of prayer encouraged us. Israel, personal needs, RBM, Thanksgiving, the Nations, the persecuted church and Worship at the throne did something for me. I knelt at these stations and prayed on and on. Thank you, Kay and Ben Harris

Our Conference Director was at her best. Linda Gardner left an impression on anyone who ever managed a conference. Every touch, every banner, every corner, every piece of paper, signs, tables, every committee, every detail had a Linda touch. In all my years of ministry I have never seen anyone work so hard for an event. Working with her was a joy. I just want to thank Charles Gardner for allowing Linda to fulfill her ministry with us. God really used her in all kinds of ways. When she talked about how many would come, she always would prophesy saying, 300. From now on, whatever she prophecies, it will happen. Hallelluia!

If God blessed you in this conference, you need to make a comment on this blog. I would like to hear from you about this. Faces I will not forget for a while: Janet Miller, Steve and Robin Odiorne, Crystal Payne!, Adam Livermon, Garry Livermon, Eric Sizemore, Ben Harris, Nikki Cook, Patricia Lacy, Jennette Boyd, Jerry Ziegler, Beverly Varnadoe, Joseph Tillman Jr.,Joseph Tillman Sr., Elizabeth  Wiley and many others. These made an impression on me.

Well, tell us! What God did for you in Athens, at the REKINDLE THE FLAME CONFERENCE?

THE PROPHETIC MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

When Jesus said to His disciples in Luke 22:10, “As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you”, He was calling into being an upper room, all furnished for the Passover. This is a powerful aspect of ministry. In I Samuel 10:3-4, the prophet Samuel instructed Saul as to what would soon happen: “Then you will go on further from there and you will come as far as the terebinth tree of Tabor, and there three men going up to God at Bethel wil meet you, one carrying three kids, another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a jug of wine; and they will greet you and give you two loaves of bread, which you wil accept from their hand.”

To be in the center of God’s move in the world today, we must understand how the Holy Spirit ministers in the prophetic. The prophetic move of the Holy Spirit is meant to convince a person that God is going to do powerful things. Samuel knew that Saul needed to be convinced of the presence of God in his life. All of us need this assurance as well. If someone tells you that something specific will happen and then it takes place just as the person said, your faith is built up. Anything that comes from God has power built into it. One powerful movement of God through the mouth of a believing person will accomplish what has been said.

When Jesus saw Nathanael He said, “Behold an Israelite indeed in whom there is no guile!” (John 1:47) He had discerned the real heart of Nathanael. Jesus added, “Before Phillip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” (John 1:48) This was a word of knowlege operating through Jesus. The Holy Spirit moves on a single track of revelation in order to convict. These words were powerful enough to convince Nathanael deep in his heart and make him one of the disciples of Jesus.

How does this work? Very simply, God reveals a truth to one who believes. When the one who believes what he or she has heard from God expresses it verbally, it can change the life of a human being. How do you hear the revelation from God? God speaks in very determined and pre-set ways, through discernment, words of knowledge and words of wisdom. This is not confusion or Pentecostal exaggeration. It is biblical.

What do you do when you hear such revelation from God? You simply do not doubt. You recognize it as the word of God because it is impregnated with truth. What happens when you speak it forth? For you, nothing. The fact that you spoke it is enough to perform powerful miracles in people’s lives.

Why is this so important to a preacher such as me? It is vitally important, because I have known what it is to preach without hearing God, and I do not ever again want to serve Him without first hearing Him. I think it is very important.

A NIGHT IN JUIZ DE FORA, MINAS GERAIS

I am in Brazil and hundreds are coming to the services. In Juiz de Fora, a large gothic cathedral of the Methodist Church was filled with souls. The humming of joy spread throughout the congregation. People were in expection mode. Smiles and laughter filled the air as if someone important was about to arrive.

We were waiting for Senhor Jesus to come in. The ladies draped themselves with the warmest clothing they could find, since the temperature was in the low 50′s. For the men and women from North Carolina, the weather was of no concern. But everyone else was feeling the pain of the coldest night in the year in Brazil.

Pastor Boyd Byerly is a strong 6’3″ man who fills the frame of a powerful football player. When he began to preach I felt as if my lungs would not catch up with the massive delivery of that sermon. The Holy Spirit began to minister from the first words he said…” I want to encourage you tonight. You are more than conquerers!” The eyes of the crowd seem to be begging for more and as the tone increased in his deep voice, I heard the Lord saying to me…” Tonight I will baptize with power all who come forward.”

Whatever was hurting in me began to feel good. My 40 days of preaching, my 3 weeks without fasting, my 5 hours of sleep from the night before, all of it began to rejoice and be healed. I noticed a young lady in tears on my right in the first 10 minutes of that sermon…”You have to live in expectation as to what God is going to do!”

Have you ever been driving through the countryside when a storm is forming ahead of you? The wind builds up and you feel as if you are going to get really wet. Well, I began to feel the same way. I began to feel that I would be inside the storm of the Holy Spirit in a matter of 15 minutes.

The invitation came and over 200 people ran to the altar. I did not know if I would stand with those praying at the altar or reach to the whole group as if embracing every one of them. Finally I climbed back into the tall, gothic pulpit and began to pray. After a while, I heard the Lord say to me,” If you go down and touch these persons I will bless them with My power.” Energy came inside of my body. I began to lay hands on anyone in my path. It took 3 hours to finish and the Holy Spirit left a mark in that church which will last forever.

This coming November 1-12, I want to go to the Lake of Galillee and spend time with Jesus. I want to come to His altar and let him touch me like I have never been touched before. Just like in Brazil, I want the rain of the Holy Spirit to pour from heaven.

Lord Jesus, thank you for Central Methodist Church in Juiz de Fora. Thank you Lord for Eloisa who did the cooking and for all who made the weekend possible. Bless them, Lord.
