Dangerous Man
I never dreamed that a call from God would require my entire life. It has meant life away from family, friends, and community, which is difficult. If I were not preaching revivals I would be building a house in the mountains somewhere or leading a Bible study. The year has 52 weeks and I can easily teach 20 hours a week, or 1000 hours of Bible study. Sometimes the Bible studies have lasted 4 hours.
Some days I simply stare at the sky and weep, thanking God that my call is greater than life itself.
What is my call? Some of you have said these things to me throughout the years:
1) Your call is to bring revival to the United Methodist Church in north Georgia.
2) Your call is to go to Brazil and bring salvation to the lost.
3) Your call is to pray for leaders to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
4) Your call is to pray for others and to set them free.
Honestly, God put me in the north Georgia area in the United Methodist Church. Most of my friends are United Methodists, and some of my enemies as well! I became a United Methodist out of conviction. Wesley theology is the most Christ-centered, anointed, biblical theology anyone can find. I am a United Methodist out of the conviction that its basic theological foundation is biblical and must be renewed.
Second, even though I came from Brazil and return to Brazil six to seven times a year, I am an American. After 46 years of green beans, mashed potatoes, fried chicken, wild rice, and sweet tea, I am completely sold out to the red, white, and blue.
Third, not everyone I meet is hungry for God. Only a minority receive the power of the Holy Spirit. Even so, this small minority is in the thousands after all these years, and they are servants in their local churches. Find a layman in north Georgia Methodism who is anointed - it is very possible that I have taken him to Brazil and he has been blessed forever. Literally thousands have gone to Brazil with me.
Fourth, yes I like to pray for people. After hearing powerful sermons and lousy praying at the altar, I have specialized in personal prayer. I can pray into your ear so accurately about your life that you will run from me and climb a tree, asking for mercy.
What is my call? My call is to do what God tells me to do. I am a servant. Whatever He tells me, I will do. This makes me a dangerous man. If I am with you and the Lord tells me to lay hands on your head I will, even if we are at Atlanta’s Hartsfield Airport at Gate A-17. I will interrupt someone’s sermon and do something odd if God tells me to. I will run you down, put your head over a commode and flush if He tells me so. I am a loose gun. I will take a $25,000 offering in five minutes if the Lord tells me to do it.
My call is to be obedient, even if it is the most difficult call anyone can have. Pray for me and my family and those who work with me. We need it!
