GOD IS IN CONTROL!

The end must be near. I never thought I would see homosexuals intimidating churches throughout America, forcing their will and their agenda upon free people. In “The Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States of America,” Benjamin Harris writes: “God is ever present in the vast theater where successive generations of men and nations struggle. The history of the world, instead of presenting a confused chaos, appears as a majestic temple in which the hand of God Himself is at work and which rises to His glory above the rock of humanity.”

Read this paragraph from Benjamin F. Morris and try to see history beyond a lost group of dejected and frustrated men who do not know who they are. You see, we are Christians, believing that every human being deserves the grace of God. But anyone who tries to impose their definition of marriage and their lifestyle upon a society are not true Americans, since terrorists are doing the same thing to us.

God is greater than all of this. Throughout history He has proven to be in charge even when nations rebel and strike against Christian principles. Look at the emerging nations of the world. The gospel is thriving in Brazil in a way that has the Catholic Church looking for solutions. China, India, Mexico and South Africa are not far behind where the gospel is thriving, bringing millions to Jesus Christ.

What is going to happen to us? Will the homosexual agenda be imposed upon the regular church-going family? No, not if we plain Christians remain faithful to the cross. The Bible does condemn sin, but not the sinner. Homosexuality, biblically speaking, is sin; there is no way to change that. It is set in stone. Listen to this, you cannot stand against God. You will lose!

How then do we see what is happening in California? All I see is a group of citizens who have exercised their given rights as citizens of the most free nation in the world and voted “no” to homosexual marriages. That might change tomorrow, but that is all we can do. When the silent majority of Americans speak, it pleases God. God will bless America for many years if we remain firm to our biblical principles.

Benjamin F. Morris cites the Christian philosopher of Germany, the Chavalier Bunsen, in his “Philosophy of Human History,” writing: “The noblest nations have ever believed in a immutable moral order of the world, constituted by divine wisdom and regulating the destinies of mankind.”

My God is in control. My God is above all confusion. My God is in charge of this universe. My God is sovereign!

PATIENCE!

The word for today is patience. It is one thing most of us need in our Christian lives. When Jesus met Peter, James and John, Andrew and others, patience was the gift of God that Jesus needed. They were simple in their minds, without any understanding of the kingdom. For three and half years, our Lord battled legalism, superstition, fear, unbelief and more just to bring these men into an understanding of the kingdom. It took the transfiguration experience at Mount Hermon to finally convince them of who He was. Patience…

You will meet people who will not make it. They are afraid, double-minded, rude and simply not moving one inch in spiritual terms. After years of being discipled, they remain where they started, with no growth. Today, there are Christians who profess Jesus as their Savior but who discriminate openly against others.  Even so-called “filled with the Holy Spirit” people will nail you to the wall to get their way, accusing and harassing you without cause. They follow no biblical principles and are ugly to say the least.

To you who have met these, I say PATIENCE! Some people who meet Jesus even today are locked into a belief of death. They cannot see the possibilities. They cannot dream of what is to come. So, what do you do? Simple: WAIT FOR A TOUCH OF JESUS.

At Caesarea Phillipi, Peter had a miracle: “YOU ARE THE CHRIST THE SON OF THE LIVING GOD!” It is a revelation that changes the nature of things. This is why the work of the Holy Spirit is so important to us.  The majority of Christians need a download from heaven to come to the understanding that what they need is a MIRACLE! Yes, a miracle! Pastors, leaders, and church members need miracles in order to grow in God! The Gadarene received a miracle when Jesus set him free. Most of us need some sort of miracle in our lives.

If you are one of these whose miracle has not yet come, what do you do? Well, continue to walk with Jesus. IF YOU CAN REALIZE THAT YOU ARE IN NEED, THAT IS HALF OF THE MIRACLE ALREADY…..PATIENCE! PATIENCE! PATIENCE!

I am headed to Asheboro, N.C this weekend. There will be many miracles, especially for those Christians who can dream of what is to come, waiting patiently for a miracle and realizing they are in need. IS THIS YOU?
